Welcome to the Discovery Garden, a high quality in-home preschool nestled in the south bay community of Hawthorne, Ca.  Our unique and special learning environment is dedicated to serving children between the ages of 18 months and 5 years of age.  The essence of our philosophy is routed in child empowerment.  Through a foundation of love and respect, we teach our children to know the power of their voice, helping them develop into confident and well versed children with the courage to be heard.

Our hands on curriculum stems from a vast array of real-life experiences.  We have a beautiful garden where the children assist in the growth and care of various herbs, fruits and vegetables that allow us to incorporate many new healthy and organic options to our menu. Fresh healthy meals and snacks are provided for all our children and we love to make meals fun, as they are often incorporated in our themed curriculum.

 

Owned and operated by Mrs. Lisset, a seasoned child development specialist with nearly 20 years of industry experience at some of the leading schools in the neighboring westside and south bay communities,  the Discovery Garden is a true GEM as it's unparalleled pedagogy derives from a culmination of the very best practices that are currently in use. The Discovery Garden is literally a melting pot of best practices, which is what makes it so special.

In addition to our dynamic curriculum, our children benefit from exposure to Spanish, Gardening and Dance courses!  We have partnered with many community members that will visit us and give us more insight into these enrichment activities, such as gardening tips from Danielle Marquez, who maintains many of the gardens here in our local school district and Ivette Herrador, a dancer of over 10 years who will teach our kiddos to cut a rug!
